The only limit is your imagination!
Oh, but it is judged on quality of the entire piece, not quantity.

Juuuuuust to be sure.
If two people choose the same book would it be okay if they both write about it but the better one is chosen? (Or maybe they both be converged and the two writer's receive a prize) I know that might cause some problems for people who can't take constructive criticism, but the quality of said book might be better than it intended to be.

We'd prefer that people use different texts, but honestly write what you want.

Title chosen: "Immortality" Content: See Below Writer: Lenard Lezard I M M O R T A L I T Y by Lenard Lezard What is Immortality? Is it some form of Magic? Is it the wondrous combination of materials in a flask? Is it to cease the ageing process or is it simply the inability to die no matter how much physical or mental trauma is received? If the head is severed from the body does the mind still process thoughts? If the body is burned until nothing is left, will the ash still hold the soul? If the mind is broken and soul destroyed will the body rot away into worms and eventually die? These are still question's that Sorcerers and Scientist's ask even today. When Humankind first migrated to Talarra they eventually stumbled upon the blue skinned race known as the "Syccan". Compared to other races the Syccan were very knowledgeable and apparently have been unable to die from natural causes since before even their great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great Ancestor's can remember. However, there have been tales the Syccan are very reserved in their studies and mysterious experiment's had been taking place involving the research of Immortality on a certain son of a blacksmith.. The Thaga are blessed with thick coat's of hair, tremendous strength and sharp teeth. Upon first glance one would think they would be savage and wild. But this is not the case, the Thaga are very wise in the way's of Life. While very in tune with the forces of Nature, not even the most gifted Thaga are able to crack the riddle to Immortality. Over time, the wish to be Immortal slowly vanished and the Thaga became rooted with their way of life. Ophian are scaled creatures similar to lizard's with a not-so-rare affinity for gem's. This love for all that glitter's has led many Ophian slaves forced to study the way's of Alchemy and their achievements milked by their Masters. Upon the discovery that Nephrite crystal's hold unfathomable power in such a small gem. A particular Ophian female named "Tis'luya" sparked a particular question that even a non-magic wielding Human considered lunacy. What if she were to ground the Nephrite into powder? This hypothesis of course had been dismissed by laughter and she was later beaten for such a ridiculous statement. The following week Tis'luya's Master had been thinking about her hypothesis and decided to give it a try, he grabbed Tis'luya and locked themselves in the laboratory. Clenching his teeth for demanding such a insane order, Tis'luya started to slowly ground the Nephrite into tiny chunks, and eventually into powder. Once ground down he began to have Tis'luya add the powder to basic recipes. Tis'luya, hating her abusive Master very much by stealing her idea. She once again put her brilliant mind to work. She brewed two potions, one that was intended for healing wounds. And one /VERY/ unstable explosive mixture. By the time Tis'luya's Master had figured out what the black potion was, it was too late. The only things found once the rubble had been cleared were the body part's of one Ophian. And a very peculiar blood trail that seemed to lessen until it finally disappeared. The body of Tis'luya was never found, however this interesting tale originated by a traveling Ophian Alchemist in a Talarran bar. Humankind, curious as always, had decided to test the limit's of the "Nephrite Powder", perhaps the missing puzzle of Immortality had been put into play with it's discovery? Even though over a thousand Alchemist's brewed potions everyday for the majority of their lives. Although the research founded most of the temporary potions on the market, ranging from lava resistance to the regeneration of Mana. The result's were not what they expected. Out of every potion brewed, not a single one of them held the secret of Immortality. To this very day, the secret's of Immortality still rest in the genetic's of the reclusive and arrogant, Syccan race. Maybe someday they will open the door's of Viventor and welcome Talarra's great minds to help further the research of.... "I M M O R T A L I T Y" - L E N A R D - ~ - L E Z A R D -

Title Chosen: "Is there life out there?"
Content:
** As you flip through the pages of this old and worn book you begin to realize that most of it is illegible, save for a few paragraphs here and there. The first few pages contain the title, author and a short note from the author.**
Is there life out there? by: Virgil De' Medici
"The following is a publication of my personal journal that I have written in for the last 10 years of my life trying to answer a simple question that has plagued my mind, Is there life out there?"
**The next dozen or so pages are too worn and the text too faded to read**
"--Kicked out of the school for my theories on the stars and the world we live on, pity, I rather liked my professor, she was more than enjoyable to look at. By this time in my life I had earned the title of a mad man, one who truly had lost his mind; most of the time I would agree, but I knew in my heart and in my soul that my research was critical to our society!"
**The rest of the page is too faded to read, after flipping through more pages you come across a large portion of the book that has remained legible.**
"--Finally I have done it, it's taken me two years but I have gathered enough savings to purchase a plot of land on the mountain, its not too high up and easily accessed by roads but its position is perfect for building my observatory, the workers will be finished by the end of the week and I can finally continue my research after two years of working for that idiot Bruno! He can plant a kiss on intellectual ass when I am awarded a grant for my research!"
**Next Entry**
"--It has been nearly a month since the observatory has been completed, My books and other worldly possessions have been moved in, and my telescope has been completed, its about twenty times bigger than that of a normal telescope! I'm rather proud of it considering I designed it! they shall call it "The Virgil Scope" when it provides me with the answers I seek! I'll produce another entry tomorrow night when I test the tele- I mean Virgil scope!"
** Third entry**
"--Its very very late...rather early in the morning, I have had my eye pressed against that little scope all night and I have found some remarkable things, after staging at the moon for what seemed like ages I decided to adjust the scope to look past it, into the heavens. Most of the fools in the village stare up and see only lights, I see a mystery waiting to be cracked! I have seen a few objects flying through the skies, fast, small, glowing rocks it looked like! i'm excited to see if these things can be captured."
**Fourth Entry** "--Its been two months since I last wrote, the bloody Virgil scope was fractured, something broke the lens! But to my surprise it was struck by one of the flying objects I see every so often at night, I was ecstatic to see if this rock contained any life from the heavens! so i cracked it open and found something amazing, it contained minerals that are found on our very planet, little shards of Nephrite danced across the shards from the broken rock, maybe whatever is out there gave us Nephrite from their home!? maybe we came from the heavens! I'm excited to continue research, but I have to get the Virgil scope fixed!"
**You seem not to be able to find many more pages that are legible, until you reach the last few pages of the book, you are able to read the final three entries to Virgil's published journal.**
**First Entry**
"--I feel my research is coming to and end, I have gathered that ours is not the only world in this universe, there are other worlds that hide from view. With the expansion of my Telescope 5 years ago i was able to see more than I could have ever hoped in the night sky. Another world, I first noticed it a few months ago, thinking it was just another star, but after tweaking my magnifications I was able to see that this was not a star, but a planet! its very strange, I am able to see a MASSIVE crater on the surface, its size is unbelievable, nearly half the planet is covered by the crater, and its just barely visible because of the light green clouds that cover the entire planet, it almost glows green...much like nephrite, possible connection? I can only wonder if there is or was life there, I will need to submit this to the academy at once and bring my peers over to view the planet."
**Second Entry**
"--After much consideration we have all decided that this was in fact another planet, we dubbed it "Nephoris" after the planets color and how it resembles Nephrite. I was awarded another grant and an expansion of my funding limitations, I plan to invest the money towards research on a way we can reach this world...Through the use of Magic or any other means, I'm sure the Wizards at the Academy of Magic will be pleased to receive money for this and be willing to work with us, despite our previous fighting, I am single handed building the bridge between Magic and Science maybe we can finally work together to solve the question of life on other worlds."
**Final Entry**
"--Well, its been ten years, I have spent tens of thousands of crowns on my research, I have discovered a planet, Have formed a unified organization of Science and Magic and have charged to the forefront of the exploration of the heavens and their mysteries, but have yet to find any signs of life in the realm outside our own. But I would not call this endeavor a failure, but I would also not say i have achieved my goal. I have simply tried my best to answer life's great mystery of are we alone, and is there other life out there, I hope that if any of you stumble across this journal that you give it considerate thought, follow my research, double check my findings and possibly make findings of your own, the search for life is important, and I beg of you to continue where I left off--"
**The rest of the text is too faded to read, but seeing as this is the final page, you close the book and slide it back onto the shelf, and leave in search of other texts that may yield the answer to many of life's mysteries**

Now this is something I can definitely get into Awe yeah.) As Patchez walked through the once forgotten library, he spotted a ledge with bookshelves. He gave a little smirk and decided to climb up. Upon reaching top he seen a sign that read "Books of the mad". Books of the mad? He curiously read the titles to himself, " Why the pigs don't fly. Why goats don't like trees. The little goblin that could. Thaga's are the most delicate creatures. What? Uagh. These books are mad.." He kept reading titles until one finally popped out of the shelf. He looked at the book that fell to the ground. He could have left it, if it were not for the title: Why can knives cut you? He flipped open a page and began to read. Title chosen: Why can knives cut you? Content: Why can knives cut you? This is mad, just because one says it's sharp, it thinks it can cut you? No I will not stand for this! It must be a trap. They simply can not make small incisions like this. *A few blood spots riddled the page* AH, but they do. They do cut you! I just don't know how. The blade is sharp yes? What about the handle? Yes it's a handle. Okay, so if I can cut myself with a blade, why can I not cut the blade with myself. Why am I not a knife. I have feet, that could be my handle. Oh this is preposterous! Undeniable! I should be a knife, then I could cut things just the same! *A few more blood stains.* This, this feels right! To cut oneself to become a knife. Further study must be done! Onward, I shall become a knife. Then I shall be able to cut things! Haha, this will be the best invention since the wheel! Ah, upon the days of becoming a knife I have found that I can cut parchment! Yes, with my teeth. I have sharpened them further so that I may be able to cut fabric. Oh the possibilities of all of this! Haha! I can't wait to show this to people. The invention will be great. Another successful day of cutting. I cut through two things of fabric. Then I took the knife. It too, cut the two pieces of fabric! I have made great time. Already a week and I can cut fabric. People will love me. Soon, I will cut with my hands! I just know it. *Drops of blood fill the page.* Today was a bad day. My sharpened my teeth and they began to fall out. I don't know what I did wrong. They hurt oh so bad now. What is this? I have blood dripping from the gums of my mouth, oh! This is only a minor set back. I shall begin testing my hands tomorrow. I used a knife today. I made it puncture a cow's throat. I it cut wide open and blood poured from the wound. Ah t'was glorious! Yes, the blood spilled and I laughed. Though it was time for me to begin testing. The test was to see if I could puncture a cow's throat just the same. Though it did not goes as planned. The farmer awoke from his sleep and ran out. He must have heard the cow's getting scared. I fled. So tomorrow I will try the experiment. For now I will use the knife to study with. My arm is scared and bruised from the testing. I shall rest them and start with my legs. *Finger prints marked the page.* I did it! I did it! I cut a cows throat! All I did was bite the neck first. Then tore it open. Haha! I can't believe I did it. Oh magnificent! How glorious this day has been. For the sake of being a knife, I am well on my way. Yes. Though I need to sharpen my nails. Maybe that could help with cutting things? Yes. Right away them. I shall start with the sharpening. My nails can cut through small fabrics. They are also long. Like a knifes blade. My head also feels slightly dizzy. I also thing I lost a bit of blood from my teeth last night. I awoke and found several little teeth littering my pillow. Hm, well off with experimenting. Tonight I shall find something more challenging to cut. Maybe the farmer? Oh yes.. The farmer. *Blood had filled the next few pages. Making them unreadable.* This man is..mad. Why would one someone do this to themselves? Patchez flipped a few more pages that had text. - Ah yes.. My head hurts. The stab wound the farmer had given me is oozing with blood. The sweet smell of.. Mint leaves fill the room right now. I got him though. I killed the farmer. I must have pierced a lung of his with my.. my hand. I am a knife now! I have cut someone. The reason a knife can cut, is to simple separate something from something else. I have successfully done that. After a month of sharpening my teeth. Then another one for my nails. Also all the cow, then the farmer. Ah.. I do believe my life is dulling. I can't write anymore. I'm going to lay down. Maybe sleep, maybe dream. Though tomorrow... I will go to the small village outside of town. I need to see if I can still cut things. Those people have always found me.. mad. *A hand print in ink was on the next page. You could faintly tell it had knife like fingernails.* - A small parchment was lodged into back cover's glue. It must have been for a crime report. Patchez picked it out carefully and read it.- This man that had wrote this.. this monstrosity of a book is dead. He must have went crazy. The village was indeed attacked. The bodies were mutilated beyond recognition. However, his body was found near a creek. The men that found him, carried him back to the small tent we keep the dead bodies that we can examine. His will prove a few tests of ours. Writer: Sir Gregory The Mad(Well alrighty.. Chances are, you'll all read this and go: WTF did I just read? ((.jpg)) That was the point of this correct? Well anywho, thanks for reading.)
