(( I will be writing not only the journal, but events that occur while writing. You'll see.))
Entry 1:
Man, finding a book in this town is difficult. Most of the books here in Larkwood actually have writing in them. It's a good thing I was able to find a spare book in one of the houses.
Well, I guess I'm far enough off topic for now. Besides, the slave kid won't be happy about my act of thievery. Hrmmm... I guess this whole mess started when I woke up at Tyro. Man, I haven't woken up with such a hangover since..., well, never, I guess. I don't remember how I got there or why. I was just there.
Anyways, I went to the tavern, as my instinct was to, and talked with some people there. I believe it was Clive I had spoke to. I dunno, they all look the same to me. Well, after my conversation with whatshisface, I travelled to Dauer. It was a nice little place. Well, until those thugs came. Took over the whole town like hooligans. They think they're so tough...
Well, I decided to go visit Larkwood Falls. I heard housing was cheap there, so I figured I would rent out a house. I talked with the Countess, and I wandered the town for a while. I found a nice little house to live in, and I decided I would rent it. However, the Countess was gone. I decided to head to Dauer to try to find out if she had been kidnapped. While in Dauer, I met two men, a traveller and a slave... Well, looks like Niruin's back. I'll finish the story tomorrow.
James closed the journal and thrust it underneath the stove. He didn't want Niruin to figure out who he really was. Besides, he was going to need all the friends he could get if he wanted to stop those hooligans at Dauer. James looked out the window. The world seemed do peaceful for once. And to think, all that peace would end if he didn't figure out how to pay go the next week's rent.

Entry 2:
So many things have happened recently. The king died, a war is coming, and I can't even trust some of the men I fight with. Im starting to second guess my actions. That farmer...He thinks he's a hero. Well, we'll see about that. But for now, I must focuss on recruiting for the Guardians. We need an army, or this war will end quicker than we thought.
Anyways, I'm glad Aldriona is considering becoming queen. She is much wiser and stronger than most give her credit for. I only hope the Syccan stay out of this. They are blind when it comes to the matters of humans. They would more likely enslave us than rule us. I hope that Jakeb wasn't negotiating with that Syccan. If he was, it may be time to leave the Guardians before they become corrupt.
James closed up his journal and took another sip of his wine. He had been drinking a lot recently. This whole war was starting to concern him. He had been having the dreams again. He couldn't let them come true. He WOULDN'T let them come true.

Entry #3
Things have finally started brightening up. I met this girl Yana, and I think I've really fallen for her. She's a really lovely girl, and I've never felt what I felt when with her. I guess I'm feeling what live really is.
Well, things have also darkened, I guess. I mean, the dreams have become more frequent and specific. The screams... the pain... It all just makes my skin crawl. The laugh... the laugh is the worst. It is just... I don't know. It 's just a dream, right?
James shut his journal and laid back on his bed. He was exhausted. He had been fighting often due to recent events, and the several moments were sleep was allowed were cut short by the horrible nightmare. The nightmare was always a little different each day. However, the ending was always the same. That evil, disturbing laugh. It was frightening itself, but one thing about it made it even more frightening. It was his own.

I can't believe it. I thought things were going so well between Yana and I. She... she thought I had tried to kill her. Out of anyone, she accussed me. Seriously? I'm her boyfriend!
Well, that wasn't too bad. I can understand it a little. However, she then accussed me of cheating! I was out late and didn't want to wake her, and she thinks I'm cheating. I know that I should leave her and forget I ever met her. But... I just can't. I can't leave her. I have to get her back.

Entry #5:
It seems as thought things got really complicated since I last wrote. Since I have to go buy a couple things, I guess I'll cut things short. Well, Yana and I got back together. Things were good... for about a day or two. And then... well, things happened. You see, there was this guy... Mulogo or something like that. He was in love with Yana, but she confessed she loved only me. He took this wrong and eventually tied her up in our house and tried to rape her. I am still confused on what happened afterwards.
Well, Mulogo got arrested, as he should have been. He then was bailed out by Sarken, supposedly. At least that's what I thought he said. Anyways, he was out of jail and said that Yana attacked some guards. I took this as a lie and released her. Things got confusing, I know there was a lot of yelling, and eventually, all the citizens were let out of the jail. I later found out that Yana had tried to heal Jake. Things went poorly, and she was quite exhausted and her memory became fuzzy. This continues over several days.
However, today, I found out that Jake had helped Yana grow stronger. This helped her regain her memory. But, she then thought that she was a bother and a waste of time. She was going to run away. However, I confronted her and Aster while she was disguised. Aster gave me a letter from Yana, informing me of her situation and how she felt. I almost broke down in the street. I thought I had lost her. Luckily, Yana revealed who she was after she realized how much I loved her. We talked, hugged, and kissed out in the street. We separated after a time, though.
I have to say, things have gotten pretty strange around here, though. I am beginning to doubt the pureness of the army, as well as the trust of my fellow soldiers. Jake also made me an offer, but I don't think I'll go into detail about that just yet. However, I think that I need to focus on Yana for the next couple of days. I mean, I can't lose her, not yet. I don't know, but maybe I will propose to her soon. I mean... I love her, and I want to make it permanent. I know I've known her only for a short time, but, I don't know, there's just something about her.
James closed the journal and placed it under his bed. He layed there, staring at the ceiling. Yana... He loved her so much. The sound of the name. The way she looked at him. Just everything about her made James' heart flutter. James pulled out the small, ornate diamond ring he had bought at the Whitehold market. He looked at it for a moment, a small smile on his face. He then placed it back into his pocket, and tried to fall asleep. Nothing could ruin the night. Everything seemed perfect. Nothing could break his spirit at this point. Not even the Nightmares. At least, not yet...
