The Biography & Journal of Aaron Valyr
Character Name: Aaron Valyr (Vah-Leer)
Age: 24
Race: Human
Background: Adventurer
Tradeskill: Hunter
Physical Description: Aaron is 5'8" and has a muscular build from his long years of hunting. He has green eyes and brown hair he keeps cut shortly most of the time, but leaves it to a short-medium length when he is hunting.
Equipment & Gear: He is mostly seen in his set of light chain armor with a platemail overtop. On his back is a sheathed sword which is sometimes replaced by his bow and a quiver of arrows. He always keeps a hunting dagger close and carries a satchel of food and tools for when he's out adventuring or hunting.
Personality: Aaron has a hard time getting close to people he just meets, this is mostly because of him being used to living with the hunting clan he was in, which rarely received new members except from those who had children. However when he gets to know someone he's generally a nice person. He compares most of his actions to survival, meaning he'll do whatever it takes to get him to where he wants to be. One thing he absolutely hates is being ignored and being teased, although he tends to walk away when he is it is mostly to prevent anger from getting to him, this being so when he is made unable to leave he becomes very violent. He enjoys a good laugh and ale, fancy things usually deter him since he's used to a simple lifestyle.
Hobbies: On what spare time he has, Aaron likes to go fishing by Larkwood falls, they make for a good snack when he's out looking for new hunting grounds or is on simple errands. Other than that he can usually be found having a drink in the Rose & The Lion Tavern, although he usually won't have more than two beers, he prefers to keep his feet on the ground at all times.
Skills: Above all, Aaron's best skill is his archery. As a hunter he's required to use it to take out his targets from a distance and because of this he's honed his skills over his years. He knows how to skin and cook almost every animal he's hunted. He's also handy with a hunting dagger but needs more practice with a sword. Aaron's surival skills are among the best in Talarra, if he can't pitch a tent he'll rest in a tree or in a cave, making usefulness out of every situation. He's a fair man in terms of appreciating other people and for trading and bartering.
Flaws/Fallbacks: Lacks a sense of conformity and detests authoriative figures if he feels to be pushed around too much, this often gets himself in trouble with the government and sometimes the Talarran army if he's not pleased with being told what to do. He also has a fear of drowning, even though he can and doesn't mind swimming.
Bio/History: A clan of nomadic hunters roamed through the lands of Talarra bearing the name Valyr. Aaron was the first born from his father Jace Valyr and his mother Leliana Ryn while his sister, Sariah Ryn, was born two years after Aaron was.
For several years of his youth Aaron was trained by hunters and foragers of the Valyr Clan as all other young hunters were. This was to prepare for a test that was performed by all children to prove their value and skills, as well as to show to not be a burden on the Valyr clan. Once a child reached the age of twelve they were sent to the forests and were left to survive and navigate their way back to the Clan. It was agreed that this was fair in the Clan as everyone had to pull their own weight in hunts, those who didn't became a burden and would not eat.
The experience taught him one valuable lesson; to survive is to live and to live is to survive. Aaron spent four days and three nights attempting to survive in the wilderness of the woods while navigating his way back to the Valyr Clan camp, in this attempt he struggled to survive albeit such a grand effort. A feast and ceremony were held in congratulations and to title the child as a hunter, a ritual passed down in the Valyr Clan since its beginning.
From there on he practised his skills, honing every technique of survival he had available. One thing was for sure though, there would always be someone better and there would be always something to learn. Aaron's goal became to be the best hunter and survivalist in Talarra.
The Valyr Clan is rumoured to have been spotted from time to time, but as they are nomadic they are not often social unless it is for trading. Aaron's family still remains with the Valyr Clan but he had left in order to learn more culture and skills. His family was not very open about the idea, but he and they both had a strong hope that in his return it would better them.
For several years he lived in East Sablewood, living on his own to survive off the land. Only recently has he moved into Talarran civilization.
