Announcement:
Rental and farmland reform.
Citizens of Larkwood,
As my first action as mayor of Larkwood, I am introducing the "rental and farmland" reform.
The rental and purchase prices have seen a bit of raise to offset the lack of government funding and accommodate the close future's need for investments.
Furthermore, every citizen renting a house in Larkwood is entitled to rental of one standard farmland plot, as long as certain conditions are met. (( described in rules of rental ))
Therefore the prices are as following:
House rental: 5 crowns per square meter.
Shop rental: 10 crowns per square meter.
Guildhall rental: 10 crowns per square meter.
House purchase: 70 crowns per square meter.
Shop purchase: 100 crowns per square meter.
Farmland rental: 300 crowns, on top of your house rent.
The rules of rental are as following:
1. Renting out new houses is handled in person by the mayor.
2. Each rental must be officially documented. (( rental post on forum ))
3. Rents must be paid by the end of weekend.
4. It is renters' duty to pay the rent either personally to the mayor or via letter.
5. You can not change walls, floors or roof of house you rent.
6. You can arrange the furniture and decorations of rented houses as you please.
7. Up to two people can live in each rented house.
8. Citizens that have lived in Larkwood for a month or have paid house rent for month ahead, are entitled to rental of one standard farmland plot per citizen.
9. Farmland plot can not be rented for longer than the house rental.
10. Farmland plots can only be used for agriculture.
11. Failing to pay rent for either house or farmland on time, might lead to eviction and loss of property.
12. Inn rentals are considered private business and, for all intentions and purposes, do not grant Larkwood citizenship.
13. Town-owned guildhalls can only be rented, not purchased.
I hope that opening the farmland owned by town will help the citizens' prosperity grow faster and further strengthen their regional pride.
Signed,
Vittore Durante
Mayor of Larkwood

Paying Rent:
Paying rent is renters' duty - I will not search every cave and forest to find people who don't pay their rents. You must either meet Vittore in person, or send the money to his account "with a letter" and make screenshot of the payment. I give this option as I know timezones can be tricky sometimes. The rent must be paid by the end of every weekend. If you don't follow that, especially after being reminded, you can end up evicted and your possessions claimed by Larkwood.
Farmland renting explained:
If you have lived in Larkwood for four months, or paid rent for four months total, you can apply to rent a tier 1 farmland plot which is 10 x 10 x 5 in size.
This can be rented as long as you rent a house in Larkwood so the costs are as following:
i.e you pay 150 crowns per week for a house, then you rent farmland for 300 crowns. You pay 450 crowns per week.
You can rent farmland for as long as you rent the house:
So if you rent house for two weeks, then you can either pay to rent the farmland for one or two weeks, but not more.
I hope everyone will see benefits of having their own personal farmland, like:
- not having to purchase food anymore.
- easy money just by sitting around or roleplaying with neighbor farmers.
- another reason to stay online, increase active population and have more roleplay.
There is both Farmers' Association/guild in creation and many experienced farmers that could give you tip how to make good money and not only easily pay off the rent, but also make a tidy profit!
Inns:
To respect Aldriona's wishes, Inn rooms are not rentable and are purely RP. They are considered temporary lodging and do not grant Larkwood citizenship - you may not to vote in Larkwood elections, rent farmland or ask for other citizen benefits.
Deadlines and prices:
I will post a list with rental deadline for every renter as well as list of rental/purchase prices for every property. Prices will increase as the region is more and more occupied.
